Onwards

Our single will be released officially on Monday and of course, I'm hoping it will do well. We have gigs lined up at the Good Ship on 17 February (along with the Pennebakers - I've played with their guitarist John Giltrow when I was in the Swamp Band so I asked the venue to put them on the bill).

I believe we also have a gig coming up at the Hope and Anchor on 26 February. It's a fantastic venue and I'll be standing on a stage once graced by the Clash, so that'll be fun.

Our first single

The recording session was a pain in the whatsit. I think maybe we managed two or three decent tracks to add to the album and a couple more to surface years later as curiosities. Unfortunately, Remi wasn't there, which is a shame.

More to the point though, I saw the single for the first time. "I'm with the Others"/"La Lascivious" LF01 on Logofiasco records, on yeractual black vinyl and available on mail order from Logofiasco records. I'm not going to review it. I'll let others do that, although naturally enough I do think it's awesome. It has a fine looking sleeve with photography by Paulina Surys and designed by male gaze. On the whole, I'm well happy about it.

That Was a Long Hiatus

I was hoping there would be something similar this year, but this seems not to be the case. So, the only thing I can think of to do with this blog is to chronicle my own attempt to storm the charts.

This is an appropriate time to do it, I guess. Tomorrow, with Vaccination, I go into the studio for the second time. I will be able to buy some copies of our first single as well as putting down stuff for our album.

Vaccination is different from most bands in many ways, but the most radical is the fact that we don't do rehearsals. We've had about a dozen gigs and a recording session in the last eleven months to a year, which is about as long as I've known the others. The weird thing is, at every gig, as well as the audience members we piss off with our attitude and perhaps our ineptitude, there are others who love us.

So. let's see how it goes for the next year.

Wish me luck.
